Men Should Sleep Earlier to Get Healthier Sperm
We all are familiar to the proverb “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy and wise”.A routine and regular adequate sleep is very important for a person to be healthy.
A recent study found that the overall sperm count in European men has decreased by 32.5% in the last 50 years. A very important factor contributing to this could be the sleeping pattern of men. Because another recent study has shown that sleeping pattern can affect the production of sperm quality of men greatly. The study was conducted by the researcher of Harbin Medical University in China. They studied close to thousand male participants and concluded that men who go to sleep between 8 and 10 pm had the best sperm mortality.
Their results showed that men who went to bed after midnight had lower sperm counts and also their sperm died much sooner than in the other groups.
When the men slept for six hours or less this made the situation even worse, so as did lying in bed for more than nine hours.
Researchers said that they think late bedtimes and inadequate rest are harmful because it increases the level of antisperm antibody, a type of protein which is produced by the immune system that can destroy healthy sperm.
A similar study that was performed in 2013 in Denmark found that men getting sleep six hours a night had sperm counts that were 25 per cent lower than in men snoozing a full eight hours. They also found Lack of rest made testicles shrink.
So men! If you are planning to be a father soon then get the habit of sleeping early.
