Home Remedies for Stinky Feet

 

Foot odor or smelly feet, technically known as bromhidrosis, can be really embarrassing for those suffering from this problem.It could be your spouse, a coworker, or some unfortunate soul could suffer from stinky feet, technically known as bromhidrosis, can be really embarrassing for those suffering from this problem. anyone can suffer from this problem, but pregnant women, teens, the elderly, folks with heart disease and diabetes, and people who are under stress are more likely to suffer from this problem.

The problem is caused by the bacteria that live in our skin and shoes. When we sweat the bacteria eat the sweat and produce a acid byproduct that reeks, according to a Japanese study.

But there are some easy home remedies that can relive you of this problem. Some of them are:

Baking Soda

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is a very effective remedy to eliminate foot odor.Because It neutralizes the pH of sweat and reduces bacteria.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt fights microbial infection and neutralizes foot odor.

  1. Mix two teaspoons of Epsom salt in half a bucket of warm water.
  2. Soak your feet in the solution for 10 to 15 minutes. For best results, do this before going to sleep.

Black Tea

Black tea contains tannic acid which helps to kill the bacteria that produce foot odor. It also helps close pores on your feet, thereby reducing the amount of sweat on which the bacteria feed.

  1. Boil two black tea bags in three cups of hot water. Add half a bucket of normal water to lower the temperature of the solution.
  2. Soak your feet in it for 15 to 20 minutes.

Do this daily for about a week.

Vinegar

If you want to create an inhospitable environment for bacteria, bathe your feet in vinegar. It has a drying effect so the bacteria starve.

  1. Mix one part vinegar with two parts water in a tub or large bowl.
  2. Soak your feet for 30 minutes
  3. Do it At least once a day for a week.

Lavender oil

Lavender oil not only smells good, but it also help to  kill bacteria.

  1. Put a few drops of lavender essential oil in warm water.
  2. Soak your feet in it for 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Repeat twice daily for a few days.

Soak Foot In Saltwater

Salt pulls moisture out of your skin, reduce the number of bacteria that can survive there.

In a tub or large bowl of warm water, dissolve 1/2 cup kosher salt into 4 cups water, soak for 10-15 minutes, and dry thoroughly.

Antiseptic soap

Wash your feet regularly with worm water and antiseptic soap. It will help to reduce the smell significantly.

Talcum Powders

Dust your feet with talcum powder or foot powder before you put on your shoes and socks. It will absorb odor-causing sweat.
